Company description:
Kemira is a Finnish company from the chemical industry which operates in the global market. It has branch offices in 40 countries and employs over 5000 people. The Kemira centre in Gdańsk supports EMEA with regard to key business processes. We provide services to customers from water-intensive industries (e.g. paper manufacturers, mining industry and entities which purify and treat water). Our knowledge and products make it possible to use water, energy and raw materials more efficiently.
Solution:
A solution which meets our needs involves progressive language tests (with grammar, writing and speaking sections), available via the Focus platform. They test practical skills and are available by computer or a phone, at a time convenient for the candidate. They objectively assess skills with reference to the CEFR scale, presented in the form of an extended report.
Advantages:
The Focus platform is a comprehensive and friendly tool which has helped us resolve how we carry out audits and fit them into a framework appropriate from the point of view of time, organisation and company image. The linguistic verification process is effective and uniform with regard to all candidates. It is also implemented by professionals, which guarantees that the results are reliable and reduces the risk of employing someone having inadequate language skills. The tests make it easier for us to make the right recruitment decisions and at the same time guarantee that candidates have a positive experience with the recruitment process. It also enables us to recognise the language skills of our employees and to plan their further development.
